Family Assistance Drives
The Children’s Advocacy Center’s work is never done. Throughout the year, we assist our families with food, clothing and basic necessities. Items are distributed through the Center’s PitStop. Similar to a PitStop in motorsports where a vehicle pits for fuel or new tires, the CACDC PitStop (sponsored by Speedway Children’s Charities) is a place where families can get help with food, clothes, household items, or special needs to get back on track.
You can donate to the Pitstop by donating new items such as:
- Food (non-perishable items)
- Clothes (must be new), preferable summer clothing
- Shoes (any size)
- Underwear (any size)
- Bras (any size)
- Household Items (towels, bedding, small appliances)
- Baby Items (food, bottles, pacifiers, diapers, etc)
Every fall, individuals and businesses in the community adopt families to help in the following areas:
- Back to School Supplies- Donations due by August 10, 20122011 Assistance Update:
81 families including 167 children received school supplies this year. Thank you to the volunteers, community members and businesses who generously donated supplies.
- Thanksgiving Food Drive – Donations due by November 9, 2012
2011 Assistance Update:
62 families including 139 adults and 176 children were provided a Thanksgiving meal. Thank you to all who donated food. - Christmas Family Adoption – Donations due by December 7, 2012
2011 Assistance Update:
86 families including 226 children received gifts this holiday season. 48 children received bikes from various donors. Thank you to our community for giving these families a wonderful Christmas.
